Equality Standard
Huntingdonshire FA is delighted to announce that we have been successful in gaining the Preliminary Level of the Equality Standard for Sport.
This week the Huntingdonshire FA was successful in achieving the Preliminary Level of the Equality Standard for Sport.
The National Standard for Equality is a nationally recognised framework that helps address inequalities within the sport sector, by assisting Sports Governing Bodies to embed equality across their organisation, and communicate and share their commitment to inclusion with its staff, members, and stakeholders.
To achieve the Preliminary Level, which is the second of four levels, Huntingdonshire FA were required to evidence:
- Awareness of its current external profile and position in terms of equality.
- A robust equality action plan that seeks to advance equality and increase participation.
- All board members and staff within the organisation understand the general principles of equality and how it relates to their sport.
- Recruitment practices and policies that seek to advance equality.
Mark Frost, Chairman of Huntingdonshire FA, said: “We are very proud to share the news that we have achieved the Preliminary Level of the Equality Standard for Sport. This accreditation recognises the steps our organisation has taken to formally embed inclusion in all of our practices and processes. Creating a safe and inclusive environment is a key part of our strategy, ensuring the game is welcoming for all and is representative of our diverse community. We look forward to building upon this accreditation as we continue to ensure that Football in Huntingdonshire is open and accessible to anyone who wants to be involved, in whatever capacity and level they want to take part.”
