Keeping Kids Safe Online Event

This week Hunts FA hosted an E Safety event in partnership with Living Sport & Cambs FA

E-Safety Awareness Event: Keeping Kids Safe Online

Earlier this week, we successfully hosted an engaging and informative event focused on e-safety, aimed at empowering individuals to navigate the online world safely and responsibly. The event, which took place on Monday 2nd December, attracted participants from diverse backgrounds, including parents, grassroots volunteers, educators, and young people, all eager to enhance their understanding of online safety and security.

An Evening of Insightful Presentations and Discussions

The event kicked off with an opening speech from our hosts "the 2 Johns", who emphasised the growing importance of digital literacy in today’s interconnected world. The speech highlighted key statistics on cyber threats, including data breaches, online scams, and underscored the role of education in safeguarding personal information online.

Following the introduction, presentations took place covering a range of topics crucial for ensuring digital safety. Some of the key topics included:

Protecting Privacy in the Digital Age

Navigating Social Media Safely

Tech Tools for Digital Safety

Looking Ahead: A Commitment to Digital Wellbeing

The event concluded with a call to action, urging everyone to stay vigilant and continuously educate themselves on the latest digital safety practices. The 2 Johns expressed their commitment to hosting more educational initiatives in the future, emphasising that digital safety is an ongoing conversation that requires the collective effort of individuals, schools, and communities.

“We are thrilled to see so many people come together to learn more about the importance of e-safety,” said The 2 Johns. “As technology continues to evolve, it’s vital that we equip ourselves and the younger generation with the tools they need to thrive safely in the digital world.”

The event was made possible thanks to the support of St Ives Corn Exchange, Living Sport & Cambridgeshire FA.

Hunts FA look forward to continuing its mission of promoting digital safety and creating opportunities for the community to learn, engage, and grow.
